Cubacel has cut the rate again to activate the mobile phone service. As of yesterday, in fact, activate a new sim costs 40 CUC, with a reduction of over 60% over last year.
It 's the second cut in just over 12 months since, for April 2008, the service was extended to Cuban citizens.
Originally, the fee for the activation of a new sim was 111 CUC, now 60 to Dec. and 40 from yesterday.
This is the text of the notice, published on the site Cubacel:
"From the day on May 18 comes into force a new tariff for the activation of prepaid mobile telephone service, which is 40 cuc. Besides the activation fee is required charging a minimum of 10 cuc.
